As the Managed Services landscape continues to contract and the latest hype-cycle continues on it's precipitous downward trend, I worry for our future. The list of vendors manipulating our good, trusting natures to bridge the gap to eventually sell and service our clients direct is growing by the minute.

I'll admit to being a political junkie, it's bad stuff, I can't stay away from it even when there's no elections going on. I don't know if it's genetic or upbringing or just plain masochism. It matters to me. I do know that once you step outside the affection of your family and friends very little in our lives is outside the effects of politics. This wouldn't be a news item if Microsoft hadn't spent so much time touting 20 million unit sold figure in a transparent attempt to offset the hype generated by Apple's innovative iPhone. Microsoft president Robbie Bach repeatedly uttered the 20 million unit figure during public presentations over the past year.
