McALLEN - The Rio Grande Valley showed signs of bucking national economic trends in March as its unemployment rate for March dropped.Cameron County's rate dropped to 5.8 percent unemployment for March, down from 5.9 percent in February.

Jobless claims fell sharply last week and durable goods orders showed resilience in March but new home sales plummeted, according to data on Thursday that delivered mixed news on the struggling economy.

Popular Wall Street Journal personal finance writer Jonathan Clements is leaving the publication to begin a new job at Citigroup. He'll be the director of financial education for a new unit created to advise the "emerging affluent," investors with less than $500,000 in assets. Jonathan has always been one of my favorite personal finance writers. His advice was practical and basic, and as a result was very, very effective. The Social Security Administration's office have recently published the list of top 100 baby boy names for 2007, and it seems that the trend of using quirky, strange names with odd spellings have gone away and have been replaced with names that have biblical origins

I finished the presentation that I was to give today at around 11pm last night, and went to bed. I woke up this morning feeling like ass (sore throat and drainage - I accidentally left the A/C running when I went to bed), and after laying there for a few minutes with my arm over my eyes, trying to figure out if it was, indeed, just cold-related, or something more sinister, I rolled over, grabbed my glasses, and looked at the clock. 9:12. These, presumably, are part of the people given back to Alberta after CBC moved — er, “reconfigured” — CBC Newsworld programming from Calgary to Toronto: 4 reporter/editors Video-journalist 4 videgraphers Switcher-Director In what I’m sure is just a coincidence, only two positions are posted for Toronto this morning: Specialist in “Contract Management” Specialist in Automation
